OK so my little sister's birthday was in August, and we will be going up there next weekend as it is my daughters birthday and to visit everyone. Well I haven't gotten or given her her birthday present yet and she mentioned something about me making something for her. She just turned 8 and I am thinking a poncho or something. I have started so my poncho's but just seem to get stumped or something. Well I am needing it to be quick. Something I can finish in like a day cause there are some other things I need to make before we can go. Anyone have any ideas?

lion brand website has a cute poncho, it's sc's and you just make two rectangles and stitch together.http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/cbcl-funFurTrimmedPoncho.html
although the bulce can be a pain to work with if you haven't before.

I like this purse for an eight-year old, especially with the nasty SD winters coming pretty soon: http://www.crochetmemories.com/archive/june2.html

Here's a dainty lace necklace: http://www.randomhouse.com/crown/pottercraftnews/oct06/pattern.html

Another cute purse: http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/60066.html

I ditto the poncho and purse.
You could also add a matching headband or hat.
Oh and my niece loves lip balm, fun pens, and note paper. You could put those in the purse.
