Well I finally got to get my hands on the camera and take some pics of what I've been up to.

As my collection of crochet hooks started to expand (and after I lost two of them :() I decided to make myself a crochet hook roll to keep them all safe and at hand. Here's the result...

The lacey section on the inside I used from a pattern but the roll itself is just a basket weave stitch and I added the hooks and curls to close it.

Thanks for looking.

I really like your creation and it has me thinking I could design one that matches my individual needs/taste* ... thanks for showing what you did!

*I'd like to house my double pointed knitting needles with my hooks. When I try to place them in my regular needle roll they take up too much space (each size has 4 needles to it)

do you recommend any particular type/weight of yarn so the needles are less likely to slide?

I Love it, was looking for a roll for my steel hooks, and you have inspired me to crochet my own. I was going to sew one, but elastic wouldn't cooperate with me. Beautiful job.

Thank you for all your interest and nice comments. :2blush

I just used what I had in my bag at home. The green I had left over from another project and I found a little scrap ball of white to use.

I would guess though that something like baby wool might not hold the hooks so well? The lacey part has several different sized holes so my large hooks are through the big holes and my tiny hooks I have woven through a few of the small holes. They hold well but I think it was more luck than judgement on my part!!

Sorry I can't be more help! :(
