Hi, I'm looking for patterns for maternity clothes, or tops that could be worn during a summer pregnancy, and so far I haven't found anything:no
Anyone have any ideas??

here is a link to a knitted sweater that can be worn while pregnant and afterwards as a regular sweater. It has an extra insert that makes the room where you need it. I know its knitted, and it most likely is made of something too warm for summer-time BUT its gives you an idea of what you could do with your favorite sweater pattern. Just make the insert with the same stitch as the sweater.

I just realized as I was typing this can you could likely use a knit-to-crochet pattern converter (at the very least for the insert part). I don't know where there is one, but I'm sure someone on this board has a link to an on-line version.
Hope this helps!
Fran
note: if you noticed that I had to edit this post it's because I can't type lol

This one is also knit and is in a heavy yarn, but you could use a different yarn. I am also looking for maternity patterns. Does not need to be for a specific time of year, just hoping right now! ;)
It will take me that long to make one! ha. But I have found some cute tops that might work for them. You might take a look and see what you think.

Would love to see pictures if you make one.

Fran, I really love the idea of a garment that will grow with you and that can be worn post-pregnancy! I think I'll measure up my favourite cardi and mess around with designing something like this myself! Thank you!
Jessie, those are exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for! I think I would shorten the Point Imperial dress into a top - I don't wear skirts, especially not when I'm pregnant! I think I would leave the Open shell dress the length it is as it looks shorter, and dresses over jeans are in here right now!
Thank you both so much, I'll let you know if/when I get any of these made!

You could probably adapt any tank, tshirt or sweater by adding stitches to each side of the front panel and instead of sewing the sides of the front and back, you could put buttons on the wrong side of the back panel on each side of it, then as you grow button the front further and further out to give you room.
