I know its asking a lot but my daughter-in-law wants me to make her an argyle sweater vest. Anyone know where I can find a crochet pattern? A free pattern would be great! (I know...I'm asking a lot lol.) :lol

You could always find an existing pattern for a plain one, preferably with a SC or HDC stitch. Then you could figure out what the area of the chest would be stitch-wise, and then use that to layout a graph for an argyle pattern of your choice.

I Googled for what you asked for and found a Bernat sweater pattern. Look at the photo (http://www.bernat.com/patternbook.php?PBS=530161%20&PHPSESSID=http%3A) near the bottom of this page. The pattern is not free and it's not a vest, but it could give you a start. (It looks like a V-neck sweater. So, omit the sleeves, split the front, add buttons and buttonholes - voila! A vest!)

Perhaps some of the other 'Villers can find a free vest pattern for you. Hope you find what you're looking for...
