Since Im not the smartest ever, her explaination doesnt help me.
Does anyone have a pattern for this?

those are the best hot pads... i use ww cotton to make them. you can tie all your scraps together to make one. the knots will be hidden on the inside and it make some funky looking patterns. I like cotton because ww acrylic yarn will melt if it gets to hot. They can be tossed into the machine. Washed and dried with the towels as necessary. One of these and a dishcloth makes great last minute gifts.

I made a bunch of those for my sister this past month and she loves them. I kept one and I love it, too! I'm going to make a bunch more and throw away my old, smashed-thin, 70's-color scheme acrylic ones that someone gave me for my wedding in 1998 :lol. They've been used for many years but they are certainly hideous and quite past their prime. :)
