Could someone please tell me how the colors are done in the shaded round ripple. I know you use 2 strands. Also what size hook do you use?

Say you were doing a rainbow, and had red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple yarn. You'd have to have at least 2 balls of each color
You would start with two strands of red, then after a number of rows drop 1 red and pick up an orange, then after a number of rows drop the other red and pick up an organge (so you have gone from solid red to solid orange, with an interim red-orange), and so on blending the next colors.
You would need at least an N hook for 2 strands, but that might depend on the yarn and your tension.

Check out the Van Gogh's Closet CAL/thread. It's all about shading the colors like that. Tons of inspiration.

Here (http://crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=28216) is the link to my post of the pastel round ripple I did. My pictures are long gone, but my notes on how I did it are still there. I used this (http://www.marymaxim.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10054_16632_-1_15046_15047?jspStoreDir=MaryMaxim&mpe_id=10057&catalogId=10054&evtype=CpgnClick&intv_id=10007&langId=-1&storeId=10001&ddkey=ClickInfo) one from Mary Maxim as inspiration.
