I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this sweater (http://ysolda.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2), and I was curious if it is possible to replicate something like that in crochet? I am just curious if I could make something like that, or should I take up knitting? LOL.

A cable stitch sweater might be close. I just started looking on CPC and found this:

How about adapting this? http://www.knittingdaily.com/freepatterns/crochet/229-1.html

I'm not really into those sweaters... I liked the knitted sweater that I posted because it had a gorgeous neck line... I like the way the neck looks and it comes back behind the neck... I want something with that kind of neck line. :/

that sweater is essentially a shrug with stitches picked up around and worked down to be the body of the top.
if you really want to make it and would like someone to kind of help "guide" you i could help you through PM if you like

O-o-o-o-h! I checked out this sweater. I like it. Unless you want to learn how to knit, you'll need someone experienced in both knit and crochet to convert it for you. I found knit items a few months ago that I adore, but the designer hasn't had them converted to crochet. Once in a while you find a designer who does. I kept pictures of the items I like the most, and figure that someday I'll look into it.

Well, I am thinking about taking up knitting, but it will be a LONG LONG time before I can make something that advanced! Haha. :)

This sweater is essentially a tube top attached to a shrug. There was some discussion on it in Craftster a couple of months back but darned if I can find it. There were several people who were working on converting in to crochet.

I'm going to blame you for breaking my vow not to buy yarn until my stash is gone. I'm going to make that aran sweater. But first, I'll use yarn in my stash to make an afghan just to practice the stitches. That way, I'm not really breaking my vow, am I?

Cool! I love being blamed for your creativity!
