NOTE ABOUT CLASS FEES:
Class fees have been set after much research into fees charged for classes at national conventions, in local yarn stores, and at other sites that offer online classes. We hope our members will find the prices we have set for classes to be a good value. If you have concerns about the cost of classes, please contact AmyS (http://crochetville.org/forum/member.php?u=102) via PM.

Is there a way to post a picture of the project you'll be doing in class? IE the purse with Amy or what filet project you'll be doing with KatchKan

I am very visual and I am sure others are also.

Um, yeah, sorry about that! I thought I had made the class names clickable, so you'd be taken to the class description with all the additional information. Most of the class description threads do have the photos you're looking for. :)

You can find the class description threads now in the Schedule of Classes (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=158) folder. Let me go back in this thread and add the clickable links.

When I click on "Paid Subscriptions" under "Miscellaneous", no classes show up; just the removal of banner and/or Google ads. Please help.

That's because registration doesn't open until next Monday, October 29. :)

We decided to give everyone a chance to think about all the classes first without feeling any pressure that they had to make a super-quick decision about registration. So now everyone can read through the class descriptions at their leisure and decide what they'd most like to take.

Ah, yes. I see that in the global announcement (http://crochetville.org/forum/announcement.php?f=156&a=42) now. Perhaps you can add that bit of information to the class schedule post (http://crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63710)? I am probably the only one dense enough to miss the announcement in big, huge letters, but I went straight to the schedule and then used the "how-to" link, during which I completely bypassed that one. :P

Sorry about that! The dates are contained in each individual class listing, and I didn't even realize I didn't have that information on the class schedule posts! I'll go in and add that information, so I don't totally confuse everybody else. :)

Thanks, Amy! I can't believe I managed to skip every place where dates are posted before I tried to register. :lol

I registered for Kim's Lacy Tunisian Afghan class. Am I correct that the lesson will become available on the date stated, but I don't have to be on line... in other words, I can access it a day later or so. (I just found out I'll be out of town on 11/5).

Thanks. This should be fun!

Hi, Joan! No, you don't have to be around on each day of the class. You can just check for the text of the class and begin whenever you like. The only thing is that you'll have those two weeks to post in the class. After that, I believe you still have class material availability for one week after the class. But, after the two weeks, there are no more posts in the classroom. Looking forward to seeing you there! :compute

Please don't forget to register for any classes you wish to take. Most of our teachers have specified that they need to have a minimum number of students in order to teach the class. If we don't meet this minimum number, we may not be able to hold the classes.

We have done the best we can to keep our class fees as reasonable as possible, and inline with what you would pay for classes at your local craft store and/or your local yarn store. Our classes are less expensive than what many local yarn stores charge for similar classes. They're definitely a lot less expensive than what you'd pay for a class at a major convention!

I'm sure our teachers would be happy to answer any questions if you need to know anything about a particular class before making that registration commitment.

I made up a sample of the purse for my cable stitch purse class, and I've been carrying it around everywhere I go for a week or so. A lot of my friends at church have been joking around that they'd really like to receive one for Christmas!

I actually do plan on making these, at my sister's request, for all our female family members for Christmas. The one I'm making for my mother is in a perfect shade to match a set of lampwork jewelry my sister just made for her, and that she's wearing all the time. So Julie is going to make me a set of small lampwork beads to match the jewelry that I'm going to attach to the purse as decorative trim just below the handles. Our mother loves it whenever we make anything for her, so this is going to thrill her to pieces!

For anyone interested in making the purse as a Christmas gift, it took me about 7-8 hours to totally complete the purse, including lining.

Just to clarify for everyone, you don't need to visit the classroom each day. You can visit on or off as you need to ask any questions or share your progress with your classmates. Some people may choose to visit the classroom every day. Others may download the class material and not visit again until they need to download the next week's material.

I do think that you'll have a more enjoyable class experience if you are able to visit the classroom at least several times during the week, for a short time each visit. But it's not a requirement at all.

I think some of the fun of Kim's inaugural class was the way members shared with each other about the projects they were making, yarns they were choosing, and showing pictures of their progress and finished items.

For the Ruffle Regalia class, I wanted to add that it is made horizontally not vertically, otherwise you will not be chaining 200 + to make the ruffle and with this method will be able to make the ruffle as long as you want. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.
