This was a " got to crochet something and keep my hands too busy to strangle the boy" project. 14 year old ds had the obnoxious male 'tude dialed way up :rolleyes and was gleefully tweeking mama's last nerve, so hubby told me to go make something to relax myself. So I took his advice and this is what I came up with:

I just used some recycled cotton sweater yarn that I had but hadn't found a project for. I think the pattern needs some tweeking, I had to do quite a bit of fudging to get the look I was going for and it doen't lay as flat as I would like it to without smoothing it by hand but overall, I like it.

I worked up a potholder as well, also in recycled cotton sweater yarn. It's slightly different. It would look better with some color contrast in the yarns and I'm still not happy with how it lays but this one was better. Gonna keep tweeking till I get it right, then hopefully I can get the patterns written up this weekend.
