Okay, I have looked at millions (okay maybe that's stretching the truth) of baby bootie patterns. I am looking for a baby bootie pattern with a flat sole and a shell pattern around the bootie top. HELP!

I got excited when I saw this... until I saw the shell part. I got a little Liesure Arts booty book that I absolutely love, but none of the patterns uses a shell pattern on top... and the only booties that I've made are variations on one of the patterns from that book. It does have a flat sole though...
I guess if you're set on a shell pattern I'm not much help though. Sorry... :(

You're in luck! I just made these last week!
This is the pattern I used:

You can use any baby bootie and crochet the shells around the edge. The neat thing about this pattern is it explains how you can add a row to make it match your hat or outfit. I used TLC Baby Sport and Pompadour and the recommended hook and it was just perfect.
This is a shell edge bootie but the foot part is in alternating sc and dc making it look "curly". I don't know how else to describe it. I wanted to match my sc hat so I used the above pattern and crocheted a shell edging in the contrast color of the hat I made.
