Hello friends,
Well now with the Lupus, and having Bifocals, and having to put eye drops in my eyes every two hours, I was thinking up of a way to make an eyeglass cord, to which you could connect to your glasses, and they can hang around your neck. I KNOW there is a name for these, and they sell them in stores like walmart, they are usually chains, BUT, always a BUT..lol..I was thinking "I wonder if anyone ever crocheted one, with maybe even beads" that way it would be special, me, and I wouldnt be looking around for my eyeglasses all the time, being a threadie, I need THEM to see..........so making a short story long..anyone ever made any of these? Know of any patterns, wanna even make me one??? Hahahahaha-shameless, thats what I am...
Thanks in advance!

Thank you, looks like I am going to have to learn bead crochet....humppppppp....I was worried about that..lol
I looked at all the patterns that were there, and indeed there are pretty ones, seems I will have to do some searching around the stores, I knw hobby lobby has some clearance beads once in a bit, and I could get a couple medium sized ones, and then sead beads, and thread crochet....hummmmm now I got my brain burning up :think

JoAnn ~ Don't worry about seed beads. I'm putting lots of them in your package! Lots of 4 mm beads too.

I have an idea for you. :) You could buy some of the beaded garland that is out right now and use a pattern like this.

When you get to the end, attach the loopy thingys :lol (can you tell I have no clue what they are called) that hold your glasses and then continue crocheting up the other side. :) If those beads are too big, you could get the string of smaller pearls that people use to decorate things like doll dresses.

I know what you mean ~ those little rubber loopy things that go on the ends of the strand. That's for tightening it up on the bow of your glasses. I don't know what they are called either. Thingies. Let me ask around and see if I can come up with some.

Today at HOBBY LOBBY I FOUND the rubber pieces that would go on the end of the holder-cord and attached to your eyeglasses! I got six pieces for $1.47!

Now that I have passed my middle 40s, I must have my magnifying glasses within reach at all times, so having them hang around my neck is the best place to have them. I plan to make a few different eyeglass cords soon.

If you didn't find a pattern for the eyeglasses chain, you could always make a mini eyeglass case/pocket to go around your neck. Would keep your glasses clean at the same time ;)
