Hi everyone! Many thanks to Shari and Kathy Senior for testing out my basic hat pattern (http://www.kyledane.com/raquel/crafts/patternbasichat.htm), and now my *first* original pattern is ready for sharing! It's a basic pattern to make any hat, any size. :) And it's free, of course!
See it at Raquel's Crafts (http://raquelscrafts.blogspot.com/) -- just look to menu on right for "Original Crochet Patterns" (yes, plural--someday I hope to create more!).
Love,

This looks great! I have some great self-striping yarn that I've been wanting to make into a hat for DS, but there aren't any specific patterns for this yarn. Thanks to your new pattern, now there is! Yay! :cheer

Thanks Raquel. It's a cute hat... and a sweet baby.
You explained this pattern so thoroughly that it will become a teaching tool for volunteers for our charity sewing ministry.

Great hat and perfect timing. I was going crazy on the internet looking for a watch cap type pattern last night and everything I found used thick burly yarn which makes everyone's head look huge. This is just what I need. Thank you a hundred times!

The hat is cute, but that Baby- you could but a burlap bag on her head and she'd still be adorable!
