I saw this afghan on ebay and am wondering if anyone knows what this pattern is called and what book it may be in? It looks very simple and would be perfect for my friend.

It is called a Jacobs ladder, or a 10-10 pattern. Very easy to do.

Here is a link for another pattern.

Great - this pattern looks simple, fast and fun! Thanks so much for the help in locating this pattern. And more importantly, giving it a name. I also found this pattern for a Round Jacob's Ladder. I might try it after I finish my current Aggie Mae's Round Ripple.

You know you can vary the number count and the afghan takes on a new look. I am working on a 7-7 one.

I'm going to have to quit my job so I can have more time to do all the projects I would like to get done. I like to donate afghans for numerous reasons and sometimes I just do not have enough time to make them all myself. :ebayThere is another thread here asking how long we would have to live to do all the projects we would like to do.......I wouldn't even be able to take a quess because every day I see another afghan that someone made that is absolutely gorgeous and I add it to my "wish" list.

I have to stop reading this forum. No really, I have so much on
my plate right now with Christmas :wreathand all.

After I saw this post, I just had to try that pattern:hook.

Here is mine. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b218/caseysmom57/DSC00627.jpg

I photographed it so you could see the chains done
and undone. I love:heehee making this. It works up really quickly
and it isn't boring! I have been doing the chains as I go along.
:2spin This one is a keeper though it will match the bedspread in
my spareroom nicely.

I really need to finish my Christmas presents though. :gift I
know I'm not the only one :roflthat gets sidetracked but
I have 2 ripples, a round ripple and a tote bag that I need to finish. Yikes!:eek
