I love the tote bags, might get some later.
Is there going to be anything special for the male crocheters among us?
Like logos or something? I don't have any ideas yet but I was just wondering.

I think most things in the store would be suitable for male or female crocheters, except, of course, the Leaving Husbands Hungry line. :lol

Well, I wanted to get my hubby and myself matching t-shirts.... yes... we are the dorky kind that dress alike.... but he says he doesn't want to wear a crochet t-shirt. He is always saying he is a crochet widower, so maybe something that goes along that line??? I know several others have mentioned their hubbys sometimes feels the same :lol, not that we ignore our families, but...we all know how addicted we are :D. Just an idea.

I'm not sure cafepress offers the messenger bag or tote bag in other colors -- I've never seen any other colors in other cafepress shops, and when I look at the product detail of the items (http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/sell/products/) on cafepress's informational section, they list no other colors for the tote bag or messenger bag.
For shirts, the Jr Ringer shirt comes in other colors currently -- pink, yellow, and green.
I got my shirts and tote yesterday!
Also, Donna: the images for the fulled crochet tote front/back are not correct on the cafepress site. They display the fulled logo on front and back with yarntomato.com on the back along with the logo. It came with just the felted logo on the front and yarntomato.com on the back. That's fine, just different than what the shop is displaying. :)

CafePress doesn't offer the tote or messenger bag in any other colors right now.
As Jess said, the Jr ringers come in pink, yellow, and green. Also in women's tess we do have pink ones in the store. In the unisex, there is ash gray, and we have that in the store also. The only other colors CafePress offers right now are yellow (http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/product.aspx?clear=true&no=107) and green (http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/product.aspx?clear=true&no=108) (in the unisex tees). If anybody wants me to add those colors, just let me know and I will.
Jess, yes, originally I did all of the totes with just plain ol' text saying crochetville.org or yarntomato.com on the back, depending on whether it was a Crochetville or Yarn Tomato design. Then I got to thinking that that was pretty boring. :thumbdown So I changed them all (except, I belive the Hungry Husbands one) to have the same design on both sides of the tote, with one side also having the web address (in addition to the design). I think only one or two totes had been ordered when I made the change (I can see what's been ordered in my CafePress control panel) and they had not yet been processed yet, so I hoped they would be made with the change. Go ahead and use the tote you have for now, PM me your full name and address and I'll send you one of the updated ones with the felted logo on both sides. Then when you get the correct one in the mail, send your old one along to me (I'll pay the postage) and I'll use it... a girl can never have too many tote bags! :lol

I don't mind the tote as it is! Thanks for the offer, though. :)
I just wasn't sure if you changed the design or if the image was wrong on the site (I didn't remember it looking that way when I ordered but I went back to check because I couldn't remember and it was different). :)

Will there be hooker hats?
Donna
May 2, 2005, 03:38 PM
I"ll try to get to some of these ideas as soon as time allows. Right now I still have a couple of designs in the store that haven't been added to any merchandise yet, so that's on the to do list first. :P
Will there be hooker hats?I think I was having difficulty making the text in that design legible when I tried to make it small enough to fit on the hat. With all the other stuff I had to do, I just let it go. Let me go back and try it again. :)

Even after the pattern is made, it takes quite a bit to get all the individual items up & described.
Donna
May 2, 2005, 04:43 PM
If somebody wants to help support C'ville by contributing a design, that's great! :) It would need to be 10 inches x 10 inches (or 10 inches by whatever), preferably 300 dpi (or at least 200 dpi), in PNG or Photoshop format.
The artwork must be either original or you must have permission to use it. Many clipart collections do not give permission for it to be used on T-shirts; you need to check. This is very important because I am responsible for everything that is in the store and none of the designs can violate copyright. If you use clip art, I'll need to know where it came from and will want to have a copy of the terms of use, saying that it can be used on T-shirts.

Are license plates an option in cafepress?? I just got a new vehicle and the "mama is a happy hooker" would go great on it...or "hookermobile" as dh said :lol It would embarass the **** out of my mother in law :devil:devil:devil:devil

May 3, 2005, 12:43 PM
They don't have license plates, but they have the plate frames. Would you be interested in those? I'll have to modify the design a little because the print area is really long and thin (probably have the hook in the top area and Mama is a Happy Hooker in the bottom area), but that's not a problem. I love the hookermobile idea! :rofl I could definitely do that!

that would be great donna!! my friend who runs his own airbrush shop made me a custom plate (i haven't seen it yet, all i know is it has my kidlets names on it) for me making him a hat....so that would be perfect way to "frame" his artwork!! let me know when you get it set up!! (if you can, i understand it takes a ton of time!)

ps I received my sheepie tank top and sticker today (of course the sticker is for the new van :lol) and i bought a magnet of the crochetville logo, but i haven't decided where to put it yet, right now its on the fridge, but it may go on my desk here at home or in my locker at work

How about on the front of a tee or tote:
'I'm a Hooker By Day'
and on the back
'And a Hooker At Night'
or
Will Hook for Food!
or
'WIPs & Chains'
Knittykim
May 19, 2005, 10:56 AM
Ha...the "WIPS & Chains" idea is funny. Could be done in white on a black t-shirt.
Maybe "I keep WIPS & Chains" "I love WIPS & Chains"
"WIPS & Chains are my life"
hmm...wish I were artistic, are at least knew how to work a Paintshop type program!!

that would be great donna!! my friend who runs his own airbrush shop made me a custom plate You know what's funny? Until I was about 27, I'd lived my whole life in Maryland. I was completely puzzled as to what in the world people did with custom and novelty license plates. Where in the world did they put them?? What could possibly be the purpose?? In Maryland, state license plates are placed on both the front and rear of the car, and I'd never noticed (until I moved to another state) that this is not the case for all states. :rofl :rofl

I would too! I just ordered some of the 'Crochet' stamps but would love to get some 'Crochetville' stamps.
Also, I just noticed the new line (or maybe I never noticed it before) of "It takes Balls to Crochet like this!". I just love it. Ordered myself a mug with this on it along with a new track suit which has the Crochetville skyline on it. I hope it arrives before I head up to the Ozarks for Apple Butter Making Days. I plan on wearing it to the craft fair!

Hello- I was just going through some of the items. I like the buttons and little mirrors and would like to get them for my students at school who crochet. It would not be appropriate for me to use the hooker buttons but I could use the sheep. I was wondering if there were plans to create buttons from the crochet stitch graphic. I believe they would enjoy that. If not I will order the sheep for them.
Thank you-debbi

I really love the totes, and will probably be getting one, but I was wondering if there was anyway to get the "sport totes" with the logo on them. They are like backpacks, except for the straps are just string and then you just pull the strings tight for the bag to close at the top. They are just rectangular in shape. I go walking everyday around town and I use one of those to carry water, my keys, my wallet, etc. and would love to sport the crochetville logo!

I have two general questions about Cafe Press and hope that someone will help me :)
First question- Are you all happy with the quality of the products?
Second question- I belong to an adoption group- specifically it is a group of families that have all adopted children fromt he same orphanage in China. If our group set up a cafe press shop to sell items and make a small profit (which we would use to foster a child in care) how does that work? Do you need a retail license, repor tthe income and all of that stuff?

I also think a window cling for the car that says "I am RAOKaddicted" with the crochetville emblem would be fun

How about a bag with the crochetville hook ,,,yes even a skein of yarn would be the better idea.... after all you almost always use yarns. It could sure use a skein of yarn on the bag. I would not like the yarn tomato on it tho. Instead
how about with the bags with the skein and hook also have our name put on the bag. Our crochetville screen name.

Terry, we do have a bag with the Crochetville logo on it (see it here (http://www.cafepress.com/crochetville.20748463)). On one side is just the logo (hook with the word Crochetville) and on the other side is the same logo, but underneath it has our web address (www.crochetville.org (http://www.crochetville.org)) in small print. Were you thinking of something completely different, or just adding a skein of yarn to it?
Don't worry, I won't ever be adding my yarn tomato to any of the Crochetville items. :P When I first started the shop, I included a few of my own personal designs (Sheepie, felted crochet, etc.) that weren't "official" Crochetville items rather than opening a separate shop. At the time it seemed to make sense, since it was a small endeavor. But now that things have grown so, I'm intending to separate them and move my personal items to a separate store. And the Crochetville store will be just for Crochetville items.

Yes,, adding a skein of yarn with the hook would look good on the bag,, and even make the skein of yarn in colors. I don't know if that would cost extra tho. Some people would want their favorite color to be the skein of yarn. I think it would look good to have 2 or 3 skeins of yarn group together. 3 different colors. It should bring you in more orders for colors. Just an idea...

I believe there is one there showing a man's hand gripping a crochet hook saying "Men who Crochet". A gentleman crocheter whose home we were at yesterday afternoon in Oakland, CA (Peter Franzi) for a "crochet soiree" he organized had one. It is also the name of the group he moderates on Yahoo groups, I think it is.

A suggested new offering: clear vinyl tote bags with the most popular Crochetville logo. They'd be cute and easy to keep clean. I saw totes for knitters (http://www.spiritworkknit.com) - in three different sizes - and I liked them. But I can't be loyal to the cause and carry a knitting tote! (LOL) So, could Crochetville offer something similar? Please, please.......

Another suggested new offering: tote bags in denim with the most popular logo! Similar to the ones at this book-sharing site: https://secure.bookcrossing.com/store/product.asp?recorprod=1&product=134&cat=19&ph=&keywords=&recor=1&SearchFor=&PT_ID=1. They look cute and would add to the choices that we have.
