Hi everyone!

The first project I ever worked on was something my Grandma taught me at 4 years old! It was a washcloth that she folded into fourths and then we crocheted an edging around each side and added a small plastic ring to the corner and it made a really cute hot pad holder. I've searched and searched for this pattern but can't find it. I would love to make some - it would really be fun to do something I did so long ago!

Has anyone seen this pattern or have any idea where to find it? Thanks so much for your help! I've spent hours searching the net to no avail.

Thank you for your help!!

Why not just pick an edging you like and wing it? You can do it. Bet it would look nice with a plain washcloth and some Christmas yarn, either plain or fancey. If you don't want to try to stick the hook through the folded cloth, you could always take a yarn needle to the edges, blanket-stitch around and use that as if it were a base chain.

Doing the buttonhole stitch around the washcloth will give you a base to crochet into.....there is also the edgerydoo available online to help with this sort of thing......

There are also TONS of beautiful edgings available here....easy, simple ones or more involved, fancy ones

Hope this helps, it sounds like fun! Let us know how it turned out:)!

Thanks so much for your ideas. I know it can't be that hard to do this - I am just always looking for patterns - it's easier that way. :D I'm going to figure this out, though, and make some of these pot holders. I remember my Mom having some and I used them when I was a kid and they were so great. Very thick and easy to keep clean because we would just throw them in the washer and dryer. If I get these figured out, I'll post a picture.

Thanks so much for your help! This is such a great group - of course, what else would crocheters be but great?!! :cheer

God bless ~ Julie
