I've looked all over and have not found a good pattern for a stocking hat for a man. All the ones i've found have had frillies that were a major part of the hat. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!!

I just was looking for one myself. Here's what I found

pattern here: http://naidascrochet.tripod.com/patterns/myguy.html (http://naidascrochet.tripod.com/patterns/myguy.html)

OR I would check into either going to your local library or buying the The happy hooker: stitch 'n bitch crochet by Debbie Stoller. It has a boy beanie pattern in it OR Hooked hats : 20 easy crochet projects by Margaret Hubert.

There are a few Santa Clause hat patterns for free online, just fine a simple one, and substitute the colors that you want.
