I started another purse out of Patons Fresco for my daughter's substitute teacher who is leaving now that the other teacher is back from maternity leave. the kids all really loved her and I wanted to do something special for her. It's lined and I made several different flowers that she can change. My favorite is the green one, I sewed pink beads around a green one in the center that has a flower on it. I'm so pleased!

I've never made a purse. Is that Fresco like Simply Soft at all?
I've recently fallen in love with Simply Soft (Thanks to Chelle and her patterns!), and picked up a few new colors today!

What a great purse! I always felt bad for sub teachers, coming and going all the time (but they probably like it better that way :lol)

That is really cute. What a great gift! As a teacher, I would love to get gifts like that. In my area, parents very rarely give gifts to teachers, except at Christmas. I love all the flowers you made as well.

I made the flowers interchangable by sewing pin backs to them, that way they can really be used anywhere.

I gave it to her today and she squealed before she evn got it out of the bag. :clap She said' You made me something! I've seen all these hats and ponchos you've made(that we've given different girls for birthdays) and I really wanted something!' She was so excited she pined one of the flowers to the jean jacket she was wearing! SHe's just so cute, the kids will miss her dearly!:manyheart

To answer another question from someone, Fresco is a tape yarn. It's not like anything I've worked with and I haven't been able to find anything comperable to it AND it's been discontinued, so it's hard to find.
