You no longer have to achieve Villager membership level (http://crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40977) to upload a custom avatar. This feature is now available to all registered users (who have completed the registration process by confirming their e-mail address). We think folks appreciate the ability to have a custom avatar because it can help establish an identity and show your personality.

We made this change because we think it will make Crochetville just a little more fun for everyone and have little, if any, negative impact. (As always, if you see an avatar you feel is inappropriate for our family friendly atmosphere, please contact us (http://crochetville.org/forum/sendmessage.php).)

Amy (http://crochetville.org/forum/member.php?u=102) and I are always thinking of and working on ways to improve your experience as an individual here at Crochetville. We have to balance this with protecting the best interests of all our members as a whole. This can sometimes be a difficult balance to achieve, and that's why occasional changes are made. Amy and I are working to bring you the very best Crochetville ever!

Enjoy!

I wanted to thank you for the cutomized avatar- I also feel it is more fun to have something that distingishes you from others! Lets your fun side show through!
Thanks for creating this site also- I am so happy I found you all- I am learning so much I never knew about crochet and finding all these wonderful people who design/create/and put smiles on others faces! THANK YOU!

This is so great for all coming in. I remember counting the days til I could get mine, now newbies can identify themselves and exhibit their personalities sooner.
Good Going...

Bodyguardmom, all you need to do is go to the top of this page and to the left you’ll see “User CP”. Click that and you’ll be taken to another page. In the left column you’ll see “Edit Avatar”. Click that. On the next page, scroll down a little and in the middle you’ll see where it says “Custom Avatar”. Make sure the button is selected where it says “Use custom avatar”. Do you have a picture you want to use? You’ll be able to locate it on your hard drive by clicking the “Browse” button, then clicking “Open” once you’ve found it. That’s all you have to do.
