It's now a little easier to become a Villager! We have decided to relax the requirements to 30+30, which is not only easier to achieve, it's easier to remember, too! That's 30 posts + 30 days, which means you've made 30 posts on the forum and have been registered at Crochetville for 30 days. [This replaces the old 40 posts + 60 days.]
Becoming a Villager means that you get the title of Villager under your user name and you can access and participate in these forums: Crochetville Swaps (http://crochetville.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18), Secret Pal Swap (http://crochetville.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=147), The Wishing Well (http://crochetville.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=20), and For Sale, Trade, or Free (http://crochetville.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=48). And you will be able to start new threads in Crochet for Charity (http://crochetville.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=14) (including Comfortghans (http://crochetville.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=102)). (Note: New Neighbors and Junior Villagers can read and reply in the charity forum, but you must be a Villager to start a new thread.)
We decided to change to 30+30 because we think it will work equally well for it's intended purpose. Amy (http://crochetville.org/forum/member.php?u=102) and I are always thinking of and working on ways to improve your experience as an individual here at Crochetville. We have to balance this with protecting the best interests of all our members as a whole. This can sometimes be a difficult balance to achieve, and that's why occasional changes are made. Amy and I are working to bring you the very best Crochetville ever!
The purpose of having the 30+30 requirement to become a Villager is twofold. First, it gives you time to get to know Crochetville and become familiar with how things work here before you participate in swaps and the like. Second, it gives us time to get to know you a little better before we exchange personal information.
We also have adjusted the New Neighbor and Junior Villager levels accordingly, so now our membership levels are: New Neighbor [0-9 posts], Junior Villager [10-29 posts], and Villager [30+ posts and registered for 30+ days].
