Dear Yarn Friend,
We are writing to invite you to contribute to our next book of one-skein wonders. Thanks to all the wonderful contributions from knitters and crocheters like you, our first two collections, One-Skein Wonders: 101 Yarn Shop Favorites and 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders are proving to fill a need that so many of us have: what to do with that one lonely skein of “special” yarn.
For this collection, we’re focusing on the “special” — luxury, natural, and exotic yarns. More and more luxurious and environmentally friendly yarns are on the market for our use, and we are looking for designs that use cashmere, qiviut, soy, corn, silk, bamboo, alpaca, and more, including organic cottons and wools, as well as cottons or wools blended with some of the luxury fibers.
We invite you to contribute designs for home decorating items, baby items, personal accessories, toys, and garments, each one using only one skein of to-die-for yarn. We are pleased to be able to offer $101 for each of the 101 patterns selected. The deadline for submissions is February 14, 2008.
If you would like to participate, please send a copy of your pattern along with the completed item to the address below by February 14, 2008. All patterns must be original. If your pattern is selected, we will send you a letter of agreement asking for the one-time right to include it in our publication.
We will give you credit (with complete information about your business, if applicable) if your pattern is selected. And, of course, you will be one of the first to receive a complementary copy of the new book.
Please provide the following information with your submission:
