Good First Doily

I'm a rather experienced crocheter with yarn. However, I've never attempted working with thread, and I want to make a doily for my grandmother's birthday (Feb. 9th). Could anyone direct me to a easy, yet pretty, doily for her that can be worked up rather quickly (say 40 hours or less crochet time)? I get a little overwhelmed looking at the CPC's list of patterns and they end up blurring after a while. lol

Pinwheel Treat at http://www.freepatterns.com was the 2nd doily I attempted and it was easy and turned out nice.

I forgot about the 5 1/2 hour doily, it is very pretty too. I am sure whatever pattern you decide on she will cherish it forever. I can't wait to see a picture of your future finished doily!

Jjust make sure you don't do the "Easy Pineapple Doily". They lie - It was one of the worst ones I've done.
