A dear friends daughter lost her baby at 6 months along due to some type of infant syndrome we don't know the name of yet. I would like to make her a comfort item but coming up short of ideas. The only one I could come up with was a fleece blanket with a matching neck pillow. As you can tell it doesn't even have to be crochet as I also sew.It just needs to be something quick as she needs it now and I crochet a lot slower now due to arthritis!

Thanks for any ideas you can share with me.

A comfort shawl might be a nice gesture. There are several nice free patterns on Lion Brand's website, along with Crochet Pattern Central.....

I'm so sorry for her loss :(

I agree, a comfort/prayer shawl would be lovely, and they crochet up fairly quickly. My favorite is this one from Lion Brand. http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/chs-triangleShawl.html?noImages=0

It crochets up pretty quickly since it uses Homespun yarn and a large hook.

For some reason I hadn't even thought of a shaw. What a great idea, off to the store tomorrow for some yarn. Hope I can find a nice pink, the baby was a beautiful girl so I think that would be nice.

Thank you for the idea!
