My dd wants an afghan with basketballs and baseballs on it. Does anyone have a pattern to share? I figured if there was something that just had a puffy round center on it, then I could "turn" it into a basketball or baseball. I'm still new at crocheting so I don't know a lot of different stitches to make up my own. Right now I am trying to figure out the puff stitch to try to make that look like a ball. We'll see... I'm hoping someone out there will have an idea or suggestion. Thanks!

Circles to Squares (http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/70408AD.html?noImages=0) Afghan from Lion Brand might work. Just embroider on the details to make the balls.
Oh you could use any size square they have here, and make them all the same size. Or do different sizes. Up to you.
Oh and to make it a ball, maybe do 2 circles, and either work with both together and do the "square" part or you could even stuff them with fiberfill.

Maybe you could alter the colors of these to work.

Here is a pattern for basketball & baseball hat that can help with embroidering lines & placement.
