My Stargazer Lily Doily Design

Well I finished my doily using my Stargazer Lily motif. I did it in the same colors as the original lily motif. Since I love the Stargazer Lilies. I used 6 colors of size 10 thread. One of the few times I have used varigated thread in my design. But it worked well on this design. The Doily measures 12 and 3/4 inches across. I used a size 7/1.65 hook. I had to get rather creative to block this one right as it is 3D.

I really enjoyed designing this doily. Now I can enjoy my Stargazers all the time.

I actually had a heck of a time getting some one to teach me. I am a leftie and no one in my family either crocheted or was left handed. I have always, loved thread crochet best.
Mistakes of course. I still make mistakes. Crochet is so easy to undo and redo with though. I am a good crocheter, but an expert at frogging.

It has only been since I joined here at Crochetville that I ever realized anyone might just like my twiddlings. It was a big shock that everyone liked my creations. But I do have an artistic background so that helps. Used to paint alot. Still draw occasionally.

I have been crocheting for more years than I care to admit to. Around 40 now. Main thing is I crochet because I love it. It wouldn't matter if no on liked my work. I would still crochet. It's a part of who I am.
