Has anyone used these hooks (http://www.muenchyarns.com/Pages/crochet.html)? I am thinking about buying a set to take on on the airplane when I go on vacation in December. They are sold under the lion brand (http://pages.lionbrand.com/6030/InventoryPage/1419778/1.html) label on their website. they seem to be a little pricey for plastic hooks, but the colors are nice though.

rebecca, i don't have a local joann's because i'm in germany.
joanns online doesn't seem to carry them. i actually have set of the larger sizes of the crystalites, but I'm afraid of the smaller sizes breaking. do you use the F and G hooks in the crytalites? are they very strong?

I've used the G crystalite hook before and it broke on me, but I was using three strands of ww cotton yarn together to make a potholder. :bad I say that could brake about any hook. :)) I haven't tried the Lion Brand plastic, but from looking at them, I'd say they were comparable to the Crystalites.

well, i've never used my little crystallites before. i seldom use small hooks :shrug so i guess i'm really no help there, but about the others: my :2
those seem to be hollow, like the big ol grey plastic boye P. ya know ?
so because of that, i would think they would be less likely to break than crystallites. (just consulted engineer hubby, and he agrees :yes )
so there ya go, an opinion from every side of the box :p

three olive martini:
i've decided to pass on the pony pearl, although they did look pretty. just going to buy the smaller set of crystalites and be careful with the smallest sizes.
tiff: three strands of cotton with a small plastic hook, that's definitely :bad , but funny though. :D

I know this is a little off topic<img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/blush.gif" />, but where are you? I'm in Bavaria, across the Danube from Ulm.

I think I bought one (if its what i think it is). I like it better than the crystallites (at least the thinner hooks) because they bend! They aren't as brittle. But I only bought the G hook.

I was just about to post and see if anyone else's G hook of their crystalites set broke. I broke mine on the first project I used it on.:<>
But I love my larger set of them.
Guess I stick to my metal ones!
BTW- Have you had problems taking metal ones on the plane? When we went overseas this summer I took several metal hooks and had no problems. Just curious.
