Question:

how do these kool-aid colours hold up in the wash?

They hold up well in the wash (given that it's mostly wool yarn that you're dyeing, and I haven't dyed any superwash wool, I only wash it in cold). Sunlight will eventually make it fade (as with most dyes), but I have not had any problems with my kool-aid dyed items bleeding or not being colorfast after I dye them.

Thanks for that. I was a bit reluctant to try. And of course I would do cold water wash. So it should be ok. I'll get to that eventually:)

In general, as long as you set your dye completely, it will be colorfast.

I use the microwave method and I microwave it (micro for 2m, sit for 2m, repeated) until when I squish the yarn/roving, only clear water comes out. Otherwise you will have some color come out when it's rinsed the first couple of times.

I do know that a couple of people have had some problems with KA colorfastness-- but I haven't. Elizabeth? Kimberly? :)

The stuff I've died with KA has been colorfast without a doubt. :)
