View Full Version : Sweet Sixteen: My newest design,

Katchkan
February 6, 2008, 06:38 PM
Well so far working isn't keeping me from doing what I love. Which as you all know is designing Doilies. I just finished my newest design which I am calling Sweet Sixteen as it has 16 points and I think it is Sweet design. I did this one in size 10 thread using a 7/1.65 hook. It measures 19.5 inches across. I really enjoyed doing this one.

I do so look forward to hearing if you like this one or not.

Wonderful design....it says to me definitely sweet sixteen but it also gives me a sense of royalty...the outer portions remind me of a delicate crown that you would see on a princess......lovely

Thank you everyone, :hug I know I am repeating myself when I say how much your kind remarks mean to me. I really don't have words to truly express it.

It is reassuring to me that working isn't going to stop me, Maybe slow me down a bit. But the ideas are still there.

That's very pretty, Kathy--I like it a lot. It looks like the kind of pattern I would choose to make, although if the 16 points have to be worked off individually....:eek I did a pattern like that not long ago (doesn't look at all like yours, but had 16 individual points) and it took a long time to finish because of that.

Of course, the finished results are worth it (in both cases) and your design is lovely--19 inches is a good size, too!

Kathy you simply have to stop doing this!

Every time I see your 'newest' design I think "Well she has made the perfect doily. can't get any better than this!" and then you immediately go and top yourself all over again.

I literally caught my breath when I saw this design. :faint

My first impression was Snowflake! Maybe because of the crisp points, and that the symmetry is so lovely. It is beautiful. Any word on publishing a new book? I am still waiting for the shawl with the ruffles. And you must have 15 doilies by now unpublished that I want to make...... It must be really fun being able to see these designs in your head and producing them.
