Something for baby with an ocean theme

Just found out a friends daughter is doing the baby's room in an ocean theme. They won't know boy or girl until it arrives. Any suggestions? I am thinking something in blue and green. Ideas for afghan pattern.?? thanks Deb

Well, I was looking for a round blanket I've seen before, and of course, now I can't find it! It was a round pinwheel, and I think it would be cute in primary colors, like a beach ball.

Awhile ago someone posted a round ripple afghan in blues, and had sewn little fish on it. I was planning something similar and made a round ripple in red heart banana berry and 2 different blues. I decided not to make fish or turtle motifs to sew on it because the color is so loud as it is, but I will be making a couple stuffed animals to go with it. I have searched and found a fish and a turtle pattern. It should be cute, and I didn't want to make a sweater for a baby in southern california.

That is ADORABLE! Maybe you could even do starfish, and other sea creatures?

I have a mermaid doll pattern...equipped with crocheted octopus and star fish. It's fabulous. :) I also have patterns somewhere in one of my books for all sorts of ocean themed afghans and room decorations. :)
