Recently I crocheted a sweater from a pattern in an old Crochet With Heart magazine. The pattern in called "Gift of Love". It is a neat and very easy pattern because the sweater is made up of 2 T shapes, a front and a back. Both are crocheted the same way. I am looking for more easy sweater patterns like this, particularly for a boys sweater size 5/6. If I could get another one where the sweater is made up of 2 T shapes sewn together, that would be great. I am a good crocheter, but not as talented as some of you out there.
Thanks
Wendy

http://www.knitforkids.org/ I hope it is alright to post this pattern. It is at the bottom of the page and is a T-sweater in different sizes.

Here's a free hand sweater if you'd like to try. In this case you do need the child to be available for measureing and tryouts.
Make a chain and measure it to the child's back from side to side.
This makes the back. Keep working until you reach the neck.
Exclude about 15-20 stitches in the middle (measure the child's neck), on the next row you chain the same amont over the hole.
Keep on until the front is complete.
Pick up stitches for the arm, the shoulder ends a bit down the arm, measuring the child's upper arm (around the biceps), and make the arms.
Sew together the sides and arms.
