This past Sunday, the kids and I dyed some fisherman's wool.

We used Easter Egg color tablets.
They painted 3 skeins with orange, green, and purple.

When they dried, they were yellow, brown and pink. :think:think:think

It makes an interesting looking ball, now that it's all rolled up, but I hate that
there wasn't even a hint of green anywhere. It was a BRIGHT, almost lime-y green!

The kids had fun, so that's what matters, right? :lol

so am i getting this.. you let them put the dye on and let it dry?

They "painted" w/ syringes and then I nuked the yarn.
After rinsing & squeezing the excess water out, I hung them to dry.

Just not sure why there was no hint of green! :(

Jackie, after you went through the nuking process, did you check to make sure that no more colored fluid was coming out of the yarn? If not, the dye wasn't completely set and that could account for the color changes...
