Have you seen this bag at noble knits? I love it and think that it should be pretty easy to convert into crochet. I think that the yarn makes the bag, not the pattern.

The mitered (sp?) squares would be made like this potholder (without the hanging loop)

Then it would just be a matter of figuring out how they go together on the diagonal following the picture. I'd cut some little paper squares and get some scotch tape...

People can give you general information on how to make similar shapes with crochet. But, due to copyright issues, it wouldn't be right for somebody to make and post a crochet pattern to closely duplicate this pattern (unless they had permission from the original designer).
I know you didn't ask for anybody to make a pattern for you----I'm just heading things off at the pass before somebody makes an offer to do so, not thinking about things from the copyright perspective. :)
