I just found out that my best friend here in the usa (i'm from canada) is pregnant with her second baby!!! :cheer:clap:c9 I want to work on a blanket but am not an advanced crocheter yet. I'm still in the beginner stages. I have 8 months to get this done. She won't know for another 15+ weeks what the sex is. I will do a practise blanket in purple and give it to my dd for her dolls. It doesn't have to be a big blanket. I was thinking maybe one that would fit nicely in the carseat since it is an October baby.:manyheart

I used this pattern http://bundlesoflove.org/LacyShellAfghan and made a blanket for my daughter last year. I thought it was easy and I liked the finished project. There are pictures of it on my blog here.

This is my favorite quick baby blanket. I've made several for gifts and to have at home for my grandson. It's a very versatile and very easy pattern. I've received lots of compliments on them.

I tested this one http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69463&highlight=stroller+blanket for Lil Nana in January and it was really easy to make. Its the perfect size for a stroller. You can find it on her etsy here http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5282786

Ask Aggie May for her round ripple pattern. They're AWESOME!

The pattern I've used the most all my life has been a basketweave pattern. It's very easy. Because you start in a corner...work your way to the center...and then back to the final corner...it makes a perfectly square blanket. The border, is of course, up to you. Shells are always awesome. If you'd like the pattern, just holler. Email is: awindsong@gmail.com

I have a pattern on my blog here (http://ibrakeforyarnhooksandbooks.blogspot.com/2006/02/last-night-i-finished-baby-blanket-i.html) that's very easy. I'm working on a 2nd one right now that I started last weekend and I'm already 2/3 of the way finished.

The Bubbles Baby blanket is super easy and pretty. A Round Ripple is also pretty easy.
This was my first blanket that I did (Bubbles)
