diamond

As some of you may have read in this post Please pray for Patti (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7305) , my sister Patti is in the hospital with failing organs. I would like to make a comfortghan for her and I need your help with squares. So if any would like to help me make a comfortghan for Patti here's the info:
7" Squares
any color will be fine (I think she would like a mixture of patterns & colors)
any yarn will be fine
For those that want to help me, PM me and I'll send you my address. I'm not sure on a time frame as we are still waiting on test results and the doctor's diagnoses. Her kidney specialist is out of town until the 16th of May but am sure they are calling in substitutes until then.
I wasn't going to post this because I know so many other comfortghans are being requested. I know I've made about a dozen in the past few weeks but a very thoughtful angel emailed me and suggested I request your help. :ty Sondra
Thanx in advance for your help & comfort.

:ghug Just want to give you an update on Patti. She's still in Aurora hospital. They did an MRI on her today and countless other tests. It seems as if her pancrease got an infection which in turn caused her spleen to get infected which in turn went up into her lungs. They are trying to prevent pneumonia from setting in. On the bright side, it has not affected her 1 & only kidney. Depending on her blood cell counts tomorrow, she may get to go home but under complete bed rest for at least a week. More than likely, tho, she won't get to go home until Wed or Thurs. She is on a liquid diet (only weighs 88lbs before this happened) and is very weak. They are keeping her on IV and pain meds but she has quit vomiting (guess that's cuz there's nothing there to vomit). I actually got to talk to her on the phone tonight and she sounded so weak but very optomistic. Thank you all for all your prayers and forthcoming squares for her comfortghan. I know your prayers are working for her. You all are the best!!! :ghug

Even if she sounded weak, the fact that you said she was very optomistic, that means that she is feeling better. Know that by her optomism in her voice.
Good to hear.:hug
Still in our prayers.

Thank you, Shecritsalot! And thank you all for your support & generousity! Patti is still in the hospital and doing a little better. They want to get the infections under control before they let her go home. Her kidney has not been affected. Your prayers have helped tremendously! She's still very weak and having a slight problem breathing due to the infection that set into her lungs. But the doctors feel she will good as new in no time. :ghug

Coralie....Patti is a true child of the hippie-days....grew up in the '60s and still is very much like that even today. She likes all colors...but if I were to a color(s), it would have to be blues or earth-tones.

Patti is home from the hospital!! :clap She's doing much better but still very weak. Actually ate a scrambled egg this morning. First time in over a week she has been allowed to eat solid food and she was able to keep it down! I talked to her on the phone and she sounds weak and says she still is in a lot of pain but it's at least bearable. She has to go back to the doctor on Monday for more tests again and can't go back to work for a while. But she's on the road to recovery and that's all that is important!!! :c9

I will be taking a pictures all laid out in their groups, then another as I lay out the afghan to see how I will attach each square.
Again, thank you, ladies for your kindness & support in this comforghan. I should know later today if I need any more squares, but I kind of think I won't. I'll let you know. I know a few ladies are still sending squares or have already done so and the mail just hasn't gotten here yet. And then there are my squares to add (which I almost forgot to mention.)

OK...I just figured out I have 62 squares already. For those of you who didn't send me squares yet, please don't. For those that have squares in the mail and those squares that I have left over, I would like to send to someone else in the group who is wanting to do a comfortghan. So if there is no objections, once i have laid out the squares I'll be using, I would like to send the extras to who ever still needs squares for their comfortghan.
Thank you ladies again and I did not expect so many squares! Seriously, I thought 2-4 from you. :ty :ghug

Rebecca, please don't worry about it. I have more than enough squares for a comfortghan. She'll know it's from the ladies at Crochetville! Whether thoughts, prayers or squares....she'll know these things helped her get better quicker.
