My husband is sweet.. but does weird things..
Like today he came home with yarn for me (smiles) But he only got me 3 skeins of it...
So the yarn is Lion Brand Chenille Thick & Quick.. in this color

What can I do with 3 skeins of this?

Why don't you check the Lion Brand site?
Maybe you can find something you like there that is supposed to use that yarn.
Good luck! :)
That was very nice of him! :yes

I made this scarf a couple of years ago:

It turned out nicely. You might try a larger scarf. Don't know if you have enough for a shawl. :think

I made a purse out of the chenille, Kalidascope, it turned out really pretty, purses are a very hot item! I took some of my stuff to my girlfriends bar last weekend, (She wanted to see what i had been up to lately!) All of my ponchos and purses were sold in 15 minutes of me being there!
You could probably get 2 purses made with your 3 skeins. Just an idea! Good luck!

I've got some Chenille in the Thick & Quick, so I know there isn't a lot in a skein. I'm thinking of making chair pads for my hard kitchen chairs with it.
Be warned, with chenille, work in tight stitches because chenille worms (crawls) out of the stitches eventually. Long stitches end up tight at one end and long and lumpy at the other. Because of this, I always use single crochet.

I've made a bunch of the one-skein scarves. They are nice and soft!

In crochet class we did the pocket scarf and beret and they turned out awesome so I did a bunch for gifts. It calls for 4 but if you just did the scarf you would be OK. Mary

Why not make a Fat Bottom bag? The Lion chenille looks like suede when it's worked up, so the bag would have a very pretty look to it. Did he get you a solid color or a print? The solid colors have 100 yards per skein, the prints have 75 yards. Either way I think you'd have enough for a Fat Bottom bag, or at least a purse of some sort.

Here's a cute purse pattern that uses the yarn:

how about a hat and scarf set? i have made the hat first just a regular pattern of sc or hdc or dc, whatever you prefer. long enough to either roll up the brim or have a straight edge - whatever i am feeling at the time. then i take my Q hook and double crochet about 8-10 stitches across (or however wide you want) until it runs out. i am 5'9" and like a very long scarf.

you could always make a couple of crochet couch pillow covers.

Hi!
I actually think that would make a really cute tote bag! Check out free pattern sites and something might turn up!
I like making totes from chenille because if you or a little one is with you and you find the need for a pillow - you can bunch up the bag under your or their head and have a emergency pillow! lolol - I am all about dual uses for things!
