I'm looking for a hat pattern. In the '70's it was called floppy hat like the hippies use to wear. Does anyone know where I might find one to crochet? Thanks.

I know exactly what you are looking for!
Here a couple of patterns that might work, you could make the brim part larger to make it more floppy:

And another version:

This LionBrand Brimmed Straw Hat (http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/ckc-hat.html) is my fav hat to make. Even tho it's called a straw hat, it's not made with straw. It's quick & easy. And if you crochet millinary wire around the brim, you can shape it how you like.

I made the Lion Brand Brimmed Straw Hat and did not like the result, in fact, I will probably rip it out and make dishclothes. Maybe Diamond used a classier yarn than kitchen cotton. Zaraliz
