:yayI designed this square especially for my hubby's birthday! I wanted something sturdy and not holey for a guy! LOL This is what I came up with!

:lol I am working on writing the pattern, I'm going to take pictures of each round as I do it. Some of it is done in the 3rd loop behind the 2 top loops of the stitches and it would be confusing for a lot of people.

Very nice square! I like the shape of the center, and the way you framed it with the white to make the irregular shape into a square. It really reminds me of a Mediterranean tile.
Don't think it's fun to work out designs and use odd loops to make it work for you? I love doing things like that.

Your afghan is absolutely gorgeous. I love the colors that you used. I am sure that your husband loves it. I know mine is always trying to get me to make him more afghans (he is 6'6", so it is a big undertaking). That really is one of the pretties afghans that I have seen in a long while.

:hugThanks everyone! I'm making a pink version now with a bigger version of the square. I will be writing up the pattern soon, but it will be more for advanced crocheters. Some of the techniques I use could be confusing but I will try to explain it the best I can.

That's very, very nice! The square is quite different than your typical "granny"....I like it a LOT! Your color choices are great, too.
