Need help with color choice.........

I have this pattern (LOVE IT!!!!!!)....I want to make it for a baby...
I have no idea what colors to use.....I think the primary colors are too harsh....I like the pastels and the muted colors....
I HATE the green/yellow thing too......
Any ideas?

A specific baby? If the parents don't have a color scheme they would like, the alternative would be what color does the mother like. If that doesn't help-what color do you like? My personal opinion is that if someone doesn't specifically state a color I use a color I enjoy looking at as I'm working on the project. Good Luck!

How about a varigated yarn along with two contrasting colors that are included in the varigated? That way you could increase the use of whichever color you like best but still have a variety.

The varigated is a good idea....
No specific theme yet and no sex until born....I want to work on it now.....
I was thinking purples....deep violet and a lighter purple...too girly?
I was thinking yellows...HATE THAT....too much like "stars" as well as girly.....
I was thinking maybe muted yellow(almost cream and a slight yellow for depth and white)...like a cotton blend...not too sublte, but I'm not sure if that'll look right....
I think I'm just scared of the "blending....It looks super in the navy......but I don't think that's a good color for a baby........

What about a soft yellow and light or country blue? I don't think it would be too boyish and I personally love the combo. Good luck, whatever you choose.

I've seen photos of this pattern made like a rainbow in pastels and with a very thin line of soft white between each color. It was so lovely. Wish I had the pattern.

I'd go with rainbow colors in medium shades. Of all the baby blankets (15-20?) I've made, most were pastel rainbow ones. They're good for boy or girl and any nursery decor. So, unless the family has any preference, it's the way to go. Good luck.

Rainbow colours are good. I made a couple of pink/white/blue blankies that looked pretty good (and I don't think were too girly or boyish).
