I have several pieces of thread free form that I would like to use to create a purse and I have a couple of questions.
I don't want it flat, rather I would like it to have "bottom" to sit on, how could I do this?
Can I cut the pieces to size without it unravelling?
I'm assuming I should line it?I'm open to all suggestions.

I don't think you can really cut crochet...have never tried it :eek but if you cut into a stitch there will be nothing to hold it in place and it will eventually (or rapidly) come undone. Once you know the shape you want the purse, you can make templates and crochet to the outline of the template.

I say work the shape of the purse dependent on what freeform pieces you have. You could make a really interesting shaped purse if need be. That is my vote.

You could crochet a flat base for your purse, then use your freeform work for the sides, that way it sits flat and you only use your freeform pieces for the area of the purse that will be seen.
