Palm trees anywhere?

I am a palm tree fanatic and would really love to make a nice palm tree afghan, maybe a pillow, coaster and such but cannot find any patterns with palm trees on them. Ok, I have found one, but it's just a small square and for an afghan I would really like to make a lovely filet afghan of palm trees. I saw one on a crochet site the other day but you cannot buy her patterns individually, you have to purchase a "membership" which costs $30. Now, you do get a lot for $30 but I don't need a zillion patterns, just that one pattern and that's too much to pay for one pattern.

Any suggestions? I could always find a simple palm tree picture and upload it into my graph program but I don't know how that translates into filet crochet. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated, also any links to patterns for other palm tree crocheted items (free or paid within reasonable prices) would be appreciated!
