Name Of The Pattern!!

HELP!! I cannot remember the name of the pattern...every so many stitches you chain 8 then continue so many more stitches and again chain 8. At the end of the afghan you link the chains...it is awful when the brain refuses to cooperate with the thought process!! Any help will be greatly appreciated!
