View Full Version : Giraffe Glass Cozy

I've got my first glass cozy done! This will be going out with the fire ant to Brendan, and I will be making another one just like it for Ethan.

The pattern I used is from Kid's Coasters (Annie's Attic), but I added hair to the front and back of the head. I also did little scrumbles for the spots instead of just outlines. I used RH Super Saver in Buff and Warm Brown for the giraffe, and black for the nostrils and eyes (I embroidered the eyes instead of using buttons).

Yep; the book is an Annie's Attic publication~~it's called "Crochet Kid's Coasters." Also included are patterns for a pig, bear, cow, lion, cat, dog, and mouse.

I just think that is so super cute. I need to look for that book because my kids would :manyheart them and so would my neice/nephews:)

****I did a search for this book and cannot find it :( . I even searched on Annies Attic....:think

Is that cute or what! My daughter(27) would love that Giraffe! I guess that will be my new quest, to find that book! I bet the boys will love the glass cozies!

Well, I looked at Annie's Attic and even did a Froogle search, but I can't find it, either! :think The copyright on the book is 1999, so I'm guessing it's out of print. :shrug

Check eBay; maybe Froogle missed it somewhere. If you can't find the book and are interested in the coasters, maybe we can work something out? :think

oh my goodness!! That is simply precious. I desperately need a coaster pattern like that. I am SO tired of washing my rug because the kids spill so much. (I know ....don't let the kids drink in the livingroom...works when dad is NOT home). I must find the pattern book.

You did a marvelous job! Brendan and Ethan will love their coasters.:clap

Melissa, that is adorable! You'll need to bring it to the next Crochet Huntsville meeting if you haven't already sent it off by then.

I'm going to contact Annie's Attic and see if they have any leftovers or anything so I can buy a copy. Or see if maybe they'd mind if I borrowed your book since it's out of print. Would you let me? Pretty please??? I'll give you my Michael's coupons for a month!

I'm going to be using the book for a while; my boys want cat coasters made for them! And my sister wants a giraffe coaster for my nephew. I'm not sure I'll be at the first couple of meetings in June because of a hectic school schedule, but I'm sure I'll have another one to bring when I can make it back! :D
