This yarn is absolutely fabulous! It is very, very soft and has a bit of elasticity to it. This yarn would work up well in a variety of items: clothing, afghans, shawls, scarves, purses, you name it. I would probably not use it for amigurumi due to the elasticity, as I'd be afraid it might open up a bit and allow the stuffing to show through some.
You'll see from the pictures below (click on the thumbnails to see a larger picture) that the stitch definition is excellent, so this yarn could be used with a variety of different stitches.
Size H/5.0 mm hook, single crochet:
116
Size H/5.0 mm hook, half double crochet:
117
Size H/5.0 mm hook, solid shell stitch:
118
Size J/6.0 mm hook, single crochet:
119
H and J single crochet swatches, showing drape:
120
The larger the hook you use, the drapier your crochet fabric is going to be. You can see from the J hook single crochet swatch on the right in the picture above that it drapes more and curls up more on itself than the H hook single crochet swatch oin the left.
This yarn is marketed as a double knit (DK) yarn, but I think you could probably also use it equally well for some patterns that call for a lighter weight worsted yarn.
