I hesitate to bring up yet another charity project because everyone is already so busy with projects, but crocheters are such generous people and perhaps this will strike a chord with someone. There is a project called "My Stuff Bags" founded by Dr. Laura Schlessinger with the goal of providing a bright blue duffel bag to every child who is removed from an abusive home. The bags are to contain at least a stuffed toy and a handmade blanket, as well as other comfort items. I saw this on Maggie's Crochet, and the link is:

or you can also visit the official website at www.mystuffbags.org (http://www.mystuffbags.org).

There are so many needs all around us, and I admire all of you who do so much to provide a comforting touch to others! :hug

Thanks Donna I hadn't heard of them before, will bookmark. :) It reminds me some of what Makenzie Snyder has been doing for kids: (http://www.childrentochildren.org/didyouknow.htm)her charity gets duffel bags filled with things to foster children so they don't have to move their things around in garbage bags. The thought of any child having to do that breaks my heart :( .

Again I wish I was an octopus so I could crochet four donations at once!!!
