I did find some patterns that are pretty close for the pattern stitch.
Try www.************ (http://www.************) in the pattern and texture stitches. Here is one that I thought was real closs.

It is not the pattern for the purse but a pattern stitch that could be used to make the body with. Hope that helps!

I looked on cpc to no avail so will try ravelry next. It would help with the search if I at least knew the name of the stitch combination; to me it kind of looks like a modified ripple (more of a wavy type pattern)

Oh yea, been there! Drives you crazy, you think, how hard can that be, I can crochet, I can do that! Finding the right pattern is the hardest part!
