I am searching for a crochet version of the Cathedral Windows quilt patten. I am not looking for the cathedral window pattern that is so popular. I have that pattern. Yes, there's a crocheted version of the Cathedral Window quit. The pattern is called Cathedral Window and is in Annie's Attic leaflet 872217 "Crochet - Ultimate Book of Quilt Afghans. I know I've seen the leaflet listed online. See if I can find it for you....

Found it! http://cgi.ebay.com/CROCHET-12-AWARD-WINNING-ULITMATE-QUILT-AFGHAN-PATTERNS_W0QQitemZ190231158869QQcmdZViewItemQQssPa geNameZRSS:B:SRCH:US:101

I have seen a version of what you are talking about on ebay while searching for the cathedral rose pattern. I know they are different, but I got your version while searching. I think it came up under "cathedral window pattern".

If you don't want to buy a pattern you could crochet 2 - 4" granny squares (the more closed/less holey type) border them with white and then flat braid join all of them together on the angle and that should work. Good Luck!

From the Tutorial (http://hyena-in-petticoats.blogspot.com/2007/08/cathedral-window-quilt-tutorial.html)you were looking at, it looks like the pieces are similar to the Double Wedding Ring Quilt (http://www.coatsandclark.com/Crafts/Crochet/Projects/AfghansThrows/WT1647+Wedding+Ring+Quilt.htm). I've been making this one and that's why it reminds of the same pieces.

If you look at the first picture of a close up of the completed afghan, the center colors (and maybe white) look to me, to be similar to the "centers" in the Wedding Ring Quilt that's crocheted, but shorter corners. The pieces between them (looks like they folded them over?) could be the "eye" in that WRQ, but on a much smaller range.

I'm not sure if that helps much, but it might. I suppose you could do the boarder in white.

You might be able to make the squares more easily. Maybe do a basic square and then do the white boarder and do the long stitches, like long sc, long hdc, long dc, and then reverse that, which could give you that curved look. Using the Spike Stitch (http://crochetme.com/Aug_Sept_2005/feat_spike_stitch.html).

Or maybe some great designer could duplicate this in crochet....

The "other" quilt that is crocheted is also available on Annies attic. Here's the pattern (not entire book, just pattern) from Annies Attic of the Cathedral Rose AFghan. (http://www.anniesattic.com/list.html?criteria=cathedral+rose&go.x=11&go.y=2)

O wow! I have to thank you for looking for this pattern. my dh and I aquired one his mom had started on along with all the material to finish it. Every quilter we talked to didn't want to touch it and didn't know how it was put together. I never thought of the internet! I also keep looking at it and think of how I could crochet one like it as i really like the look. DUH! I have that pattern you have all talked about. :lol
