Looking for a round ripple or star afghan pattern that is predominantly hdc. Does it exist?

if you use this pattern, you can do it in hdc instead of dc.http://yarn-diva.blogspot.com/2006/03/free-star-shaped-afghan-pattern.html

I would just do any of the RR patterns in half double instead of double. It should work just fine.

:thinkIt seems to me that since each row is a bit shorter if you do hdcs and not dcs......well, after 10, 20, 40 rows your RR will be much smaller in size, but still have the same number of increases.......it isn't going to lay flat, it is going to begin to get all ruffely......guess you are going to have to do less increases and it will be up to you to decide when to increase or not:hook. It will be a trial and error sort of thing. Good luck......looking forward to what you come up with!
