and i do mean little

it is made with size 80 dmc tatting thread and a #10 steel hook

it has been shipped off to a friend that is a jeweler and the is going to make it a pendant and then create a necklace for my sister... i'll post a pic when it's finished... several weeks, i''m sure

gosh...I am still trying to figure out HOW to do flowers like that in worsted, much less trying it in tatting thread. cheers to you :cheer

thank you all very much! it was definately a challenge. i've discovered that i really enjoy working with thread:eek never really thought i would. but it's really great to see these little bitty things and think "i made that!":lol :P


i'm going to be making another but with my own rose pattern i made up in frustration of this one.... coming soon :hook

Wow, that's amazing! I love teeny tiny stuff and your flower is beautiful! The idea of it being a pendant is awesome! Do you think you could get a picture of it when it's finished? I'd love to see it!

Wow - so tiny, a size 80 thread?? Don't see that one happening in my near future, still trying to get used the size 10. You did a great job!

I worked with miniatures (not crochet) so I appreciate the work that went into that.

Will you stiffen it or leave it soft? I can't wait to see it finished!! It is so dainty and beautiful. I also make jewelry and am very curious to see what you do with it!!

rebecca, i love that flower and the fact it is going to be made into a necklace is even better. your very talented and have way more patience that me, i hate working with thread that fine, is almost like crocehting with sewing thread.:eek :eek :eek you did a great job:hug :hug vicki

Wow, Rebecca! I am in awe with your patience! I tried crocheting a hanky edging before with sewing thread then gave up on it. I'll try again using 3 strands of sewing thread. :-))))

once it is received by the jeweler, i'll get her opinion on that. i'll post pictures of it as a necklace as soon as i can. she is in Vegas right now at some bead market or something :P i can't wait to see what new designs she comes up with :c9

The flower is so pretty and making it into a pendant is even better. Will it be dipped into something to make it stiff and hold its shape?
