Am I the only christmas crocheter?

Not official yet but I think I am too. I am making Christmas presents.

I'm here. Unfortunately I won't be able to start until my crochet club meeting on Sunday.

I'm making a stocking for my husband for Christmas. What is everyone else making?

Hi ladies, I'm a Christmas crocheter too! :D I'm making covered ball ornaments. Or at least I will be - I just got home from work so I haven't started. I might not get to start until Sunday either, but that's OK. I may have set the bar too high for myself in wanting to make 10 of them in 16 days, but I'll give it my best shot. :D

How's it going, team?

:cheer I got my first ornament done today, and started on my second one! :cheer If I hadn't been doing laundry today I probably could have gotten more done. I am really happy with my progress so far, though! The ornaments are easier than I thought they'd be, so it'll just be a matter of finding the time to work on them. :crocheting

Got the heel done :clapwhile I was waiting for the dryer repairman this morning. Unfortunately the part they replaced didn't fix the problem, :thinkso I have to be here again next Monday :angryso they (hopefully) fix it with yet another new part! UGH!!! Going on 3 1/2 weeks without a dryer...I'm not a happy camper.

I have 5 sets of beanies and fingerless gloves done. So I am ahead of schedule but the monotony of doing the same thing over and over (my weakness) hasn't set in.... hopefully it won't until I am done :D but then it wouldn't be a challenge would it?

Hi there team! :cheer

Sorry I'm so late in posting, I went on a 4 day vacation starting on Friday (it was planned before I joined this place) and haven't had computer access.

I'm working on my Christmas Tree Skirt. I have 3 main color changes completed and am hoping I bought enough yarn for the project, as it's taking much more than I expected.

I'm loving it, but my challenging part has already kicked in, as I have to clean up from being gone 4 days today and start working in the school system tomorrow...

Oh the stress! But I thrive on stress, so this is a good thing, yes?

Alrighty! I have only 8 more rounds to do (not quite, as I've been messing on the computer during commercials and crocheting during the Olympic coverage)

I've been taking daily pictures, though there were 2 days I've not worked on it. It's coming along very very well, just gotta keep the momentum up!

I just finished all the crocheting on my husband's stocking!!!! :yay

I have to sew it up, I'm leaving that for tomorrow because he can come home from work any time now. After that I just need to line it. I can believe that I'm almost done. It was a lot easier than I thought.

I'm hoping to post some pictures on my blog later or tomorrow. (It just started thundering here, so I'm going to sign off and try to get the pix up tonight)

LoL! Cute kitty!

I came across a problem yesterday though that's still bothering me today.

:think

I did 4 rounds, as has been my goal to get it all completed before I start school. Well, at dinner my hand cramped up so bad around my fork that I could hardly let go. My hook hand. It's been sore all day today.

Any ideas/suggestions? I left my brace in Ohio accidentally, that might be part of the problem, lol...

Are there such things as hand stretches?

ArielManx
August 16th, 2008, 12:15 AM
I got one more ornament done tonight! :cheer I timed myself and I can crank one out in about three hours of solid work, so hopefully I will succeed and get a medal.

'Stina, there are lots of different hand and arm stretches that will help - I learned them from my massage therapist and my yoga DVDs, and I doubt I can describe them in anyway that will make sense, LOL. One that really helps me is to just shake my hands out, like when you're shaking water off them - just really let go and shake 'em good! If you google you could probably find some guides with pictures for stretches.

Go team Filet! This is my first filet EVER. WOW to all the threadies out there. Talk about my hand aching! But I really like how this turned out. Now I want to do more. I love the fact that I was able to start and finish something in an exact time frame.... so not like me! I have had a great time with this and by trying something I have never done, found something that I like to do, but is definitely a challenge.

Here are my ornaments! :yay I am just so thrilled with how they turned out. I learned in a hurry making these that even though I normally have really good gauge with yarn, I still crochet really tight with thread - I had to go up three hook sizes! :lol I can't wait to make more of these - after I give my poor hands and eyes a break, that is. :hook
