Thanks for our own thread!!!
WOO-HOO!
Well I had a pretty productive day yesterday and just started on the armholes last night and I knew that was gonna be a pain... I think I crocheted and frogged that round like 4 times before I got it right and at this point I'm still not sure if I got it right! LOL
I've decided once I get to the sleeves that I want to make them a little more fitted so I'm going to work on them starting larger, getting smaller and then getting a little larger at the cuff. It could be a disaster but you never know unless you try, right?
Go team!!!

Yay, our own team! I fit in here. I'm making myself a Molly Weasley sweater. Been wanting one of my own for a long time. I bought Vanna's Choice yarn, and I'm loving it. It's soft but has some 'body' to it. It's not flimsy like some soft yarns. I really love the color choices, too. Most are perfect for the sleeves, which are very colorful.
I've got the back about 3/4 done. :hook

Go Team!!!!
I have 13 squares completed of the 35 that I need. They crochet up real quick. I'm a little worried about the connecting part. But, I think I can do it!
It's going to be a rainy day here today, so I think I will get a lot finished today!
I'm making the crystal lace bolero, by the way....

My update: I finished all 35 squares during the day and into the evening yesterday! Wow, I can't beleive I did all that. I still have 4 - 3/4 squares to make....then it's on to connecting them....This is where I might have some problems..

GO TEAM!! :cheer
It sounds like we're off to a GREAT start!
I am working on my first pair of socks. Plus, I'm going to piece together a sweater for my DD that I crocheted last Fall. The purpose of my challenge is to piece wearable pieces! I've had such trouble getting these done and finding a piecing method I'm happy with. Between the socks and the sweater, I should be able to come up with something.
This past weekend I was able to get about 3/4 through the first sock and everything is going OK so far. The fingering weight yarn was a little tricky to get used to. But, now it's moving right along!
Good luck everyone!! :clap

Well I got all of the first half of Shelle's shawler done over the weekend. That has to be one of the best written patterns I have used in a while. (Like Maria's pineapple shawl) Since I am working a a AG Doll dress pattern from HEck also it is really nice to be able to pick up a pattern that makes sense sometimes. thanks Shelle

Like Patty, I am making my first pair of socks. This is my 9th attempt actually. Seriously. I tried the first 8 using patterns found online and it didn't work out for me for some reason. I never got past the toe...knuckles??? LOL!
So I got professional help this time. Having made a Shawler as my first wearable, I know Shelle's patterns are written clearly--so I bought her socks pattern!
Due to health issues, it took the first 5 days to complete this one sock. Can you believe it? I made a SOCK!!! I definitely need more practice might
THANK YOU Shelle! I am very excited to share my one sock below. Hopefully I had can get the other done before the end of the Games.

Great job everyone!!!
I am still joining squares....I have a million ends to weave in...Yikes! I did weave in the ends of the squares when I made them, but the joining process leaves twice as many. So needless to say, it's slow going.
I'm also a little concerned that this bolero is going to be huge!!! My squares were to gauge, but according to the pattern, it should be 22" across the bottom....Mine is much bigger. I think I am going to continue joining....I'd rather it be too big than too small....

Grandma Beth,
Just tell us how you're doing. Don't feel like you have to 'verify' it or something with pictures. Sure it's neat to see projects but no one has to own a camera just to participate in the fun--that's what this is about, fun, not worrying about if our technology is going to work or not along the way.

I just wanted to post and say I FINISHED! WOO-HOO!!!!! In the end I opted not to do the sleeves as my shoulders really are the only things which get cold and the overhang on this actually covers them up so I figured why bother? I also didn't do the button and instead left it like it was so that I can just close it when I wear it with a pin.
Anyway, here it is!

Well I can't see if I got put into a group but I am making a wearable so I will play here................... if that is ok with you all. :D
So I have the wrap done except for the bottom edge. Then I can get to my hat. After I figured out what it was supposed to be doing it was easy going from there.
I am using superwash bamboo for it. I like the stuff BUT it is very very slippery. So I can't "cheat" and use up my ends while working so I just have to weave in ten thousand ends BUT I have been doing those as I go along so it wasn't TOO bad.
But if any of you decide to make the victorian shrug/wrap out of the Crochet Me book I suggest you make a size smaller than you wear cause it is large. I am spot on for gauge but it is going to be a bit big and I am going ot have to do something about the neck opening cause it is too big. :(
Ok all done with my progress/rant for the night. Off to work some more on this thing.

I am not doing so hot.....I am still joining squares together. It is taking way more time than I thought. I have also had a bazillion ends to weave in, I have been doing that as I join. It is only 32 squares for heaven's sake! I didn't help that I was away for most of last weekend. I will hopefully be done joining tonight. But, I still have the edging to crochet on....I don't think I can do it.....
You can do it :cheer:cheer- Think positive.:yes Hugs :hug:hugcoming your way to help you on your journey from Team Doll Member who has finished and just thought that she would drop in to encourage everyone else.

Well, I just finished joining all the squares....I have another bazillion ends to weave in, and then the border. I probably could do it if I wasn't going anywhere this weekend, but the weather forcast for here finally has no rain in it and my DH and I are going to get away for the weekend on the motorcycle....so, I might have some time late Sunday afternoon....but I don't think it will be enough to completly finish....Oh, well, I will get it done eventualy!!!!
Thanks for all the encouragement!

Ok so so far I have 1 and 2/3 slippers made, should be able to finish them today. I still have a whole second pair to make. My chances of a medal are slipping away, but I wouldn't trade my vacation for anything even if I didn't get much done while on it!
Wish me luck!

Isn't is a great feeling to set a goal for yourself and complete it!!?? I never would have thought I'd be able to make a pair of socks I could actually wear that looked like something I could wear! And, I never thought I'd get DD's sweater pieced together. But, here they both are! Thank you for all of the encouragement to push me to do what I set out to do. The challenge was great and "Getting 'er Done" feels AWESOME!! Good luck to everyone else! Our Gold Medal is on its way!! :cheer

here is my vistorian wrap out of the crochet me book. I opted for a shorter edging cause I liked it this way better. :) Enjoy
And the hat is the slouchy hat but I also made that a tad smaller cause I like for my hats to fit snugly.

Way to go everyone that completed your projects!
My bolero is about 85% complete. I finished joining and weaving in ends, but no border.
This project turned out huge!!!! I think I am going to take it apart and rejoin for the size medium. I really can't reuse the yarn, it's all squares, so I have my work cut out for me.....but I will finish this sometime!!!!
