I was really in need of a break this week. So when I picked up my hook and started creating this doily I gave myself permission to not worry about writing a pattern for it. Don't worry I am going to remake it in size 20 thread and I will write it down when I do. I just have to wait for the light pink thread to get here. But it did feel good to just be crocheting and not worrying about writing for a change.
This one was an experiment in color for me. Wanted to see how well I could get it a fading look without resorting to the painted doily technique. There are four colors used on this one. cream, light pink, dusty rose and medium shell pink. I used size ten thread for this experiment as I had all the colors I wanted to try using available. Now I will make it in the size 20 thread for my own personal use. It measures 18.5 inches long by 12.5 inches wide. I used a size 7/1.65mm hook.

So what do you think of my experiment?

I love ovals too--I think your color experiments worked well, although I know it would be hard to find that many shades of most colors to do it in something other than pink. It's really beautiful.

That is lovely, I love the look of painted doilies but have never tried because I thought they'd be too 'fussy' to make. Great idea!
I second 'berries and cream'.

Thank you everyone once again. I am patiently waiting for my thread to get here so I can remake it and get the pattern written down. Hopefully by that time to right name will come to me. Thank you so much for all the suggestions.

Gorgeous. :c9
The stars make me think of starfish, and the off white makes me think of seashells... so you could call it 'starfish and seashells' :lol ... or just 'by the sea'
